SUMMIT UPDATE - APRIL 14, 2021
Good day everyone,
Thank you again for being a part of the inaugural National Summit on Antiracism in Public Relations and Communications Management, a historic event in the Canadian public relations industry. Over 500 of you contributed to the success of this two-day summit held on March 22 - 23, nestled between the International Day for the Elimination of Racism, International Transgender Day of Visibility and at the close of Women's History Month.
As part of your ticket purchase, you will have access to the playback recordings across our keynotes, fireside chats and workshops for 60 days (April 15 to June 15, 2021). We ask that you do not record or share this content with others, to honour the intellectual property of the educators and speakers involved. If you do require further context or dialogue on any of the topics, please reach out to speakers and educators directly or make a request to email@example.com.
We still have much work to do, but your attendance and the actions we hope you feel inspired to take, are bringing us closer to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging in our industry, and more broadly, for our society. Some notable highlights over the two days included:
Raising approximately $10,000 towards the CPRS Bpoc Scholarship, directly supporting diversity in this industry (donations also continue to come in)
#antiracismPR trended on Twitter during the summit, reaching an audience beyond the event
Global reach - as far as Australia!
Expansion of our planning team to design next steps for our community of antiracism practitioners
Your feedback is important and immensely helpful to us as we look to the future. If you have not done so already, please complete our event survey over the next 10 days, and look out for future communication through our website and social media channels.
We thank you for your ongoing support, for being a part of this community, and for helping drive this culture change for all.
